Looking for the best free children’s eBook available on iTunes? Look no further! It’s the five-star rated The Little Green Boat by Chris Stead.

The Little Green Boat Free Children's eBook

A year ago, we launched our first ever children’s picture book. It was The Little Green Boat, Book 1 of The Wild Imagination of Willy Nilly series. We’ve since released another six children’s picture books – including two more in the Willy Nilly series (Follow the Breadcrumbs and The Fastest Kid in the World – a comic and a cookbook. (Plus we work hard to help other parents make their own children's book, too.) However, The Little Green Boat holds a special place in our heart. We want you all to read it and to fall in love with this fun character and his amazing adventures. So as part of our showing at this weekend’s Kids Gifts and Toys Bazaar, we’re making it a free children’s ebook.

It’s the best free children’s book going around, too, rated five-stars - get it now.

I first told The Little Green Boat to my son in mid-2015, as a means of keeping him quiet. We were driving back from the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, and he was being a pain. With a fair drive in front of us, I came up with a tale. It was about a little boy who went to the beach on a hot summer’s day. He wanders off into the sand dunes, where he finds a little green boat. But when he climbs in for a play, he's washed out to sea by a giant wave. Willy enlists the help of some dolphins to get back to shore, but they take him to a deserted island. Here he finds a treasure map that will lead him home, if he can brave the monkeys, bats, bridges, crocodiles and mountains in his way.

This free children’s eBook is the full digital experience

As I have detailed previously – here’s 16 good reasons - we make true eBooks at Old Mate Media. So you can anticipate more than just pages and pictures. Animations, sound effects, interactive buttons and even a theme tune greet the kids and they absolutely love it. We use this mentality with all of our books! And obviously in making The Little Green Boat a free children’s ebook, we’re hoping you will enjoy it and pick up our other book as well. That includes a fourth Willy Nilly, which will be out before Christmas.

If you want to experience a fully digital reading experience, try Willy Nilly in The Little Green Boat for free.

More free children’s eBook content

As you will see at the end of the book, we are giving a gift away to readers who review The Little Green Boat (or any of our books). Just follow the instructions and we’ll send you a bunch of goodies for your kids. We recently wrote a post explaining eight reasons why reviewing eBooks is so vitally important to self-published indie authors. Please give it a read if you’d like to know why we’re asking you to give us the thumbs up.

Also, if you need any advice on help working out how to get The Little Green Boat downloading and working on your iPhone, iPad, iPod or Mac, check out this guide. The book is also on Kindle, and Kobo, but we’ve been unable to make it free, just as cheap as those channels will allow.
