Enjoy the first official look at The Fastest Kid in the World, the third book in Chris Stead’s The Wild Imagination of Willy Nilly children’s picture book series.
Get excited picture book fans, our wonderful artist Ronzkie has just submitted the final image for the third Willy Nilly book. The last puzzle piece to fall into place was the cover, which you can see for the first time on this page. Like it? I hope so! It means we’re only weeks away from its release, as I head into the design phase and put the images and text together into something readable. I’ll need to play with the layout and put in all the interactions so it’s a fun experience, then I’ll publish it to the App Store and Amazon shortly.
What is The Fastest Kid in the World about?
The third book in The Wild Imagination of Willy Nilly series is called The Fastest Kid in the World. Like most young boys, Willy Nilly loves his race cars, so one day his dad decides they should build a billy cart. Willy’s dreams of doing cool skids in the park doesn’t really pan out, however, as his poor dad simply cannot push it fast enough. So Willy’s imagination takes over and he gets a great idea.
The next day he sneaks a bar or soap out of the bathroom, and takes his billy cart to the tallest hill in town. He then coats the wheels to make them as slippery as possible so he can get extra fast. But when he takes off down the slope, you will never guess what adventure unfolds as he hurtles right through the town causing mayhem and destruction at a blindingly fast speed.
