There's been some interesting stuff happening in the publishing world and we wanted to share it with you in an easy bite size read.

IngramSpark is running a fabulous competition.

IngramSpark is giving authors the chance to display their books at various book fairs for free!

Get in fast as the comp ends on the 24th May!

Free title revisions with IngramSpark til 30 June

Another bonus from IngramSpark is the chance to revise your title for free until 30 June. This will save you $25USD per revision.

It could reduce your upload costs by $75 when you combine it with our code for free set up. Get those books up there!

MailChimp has changed its terms

This one has been all over the social feeds. MailChimp has adjusted the way they count subscribers, which can affect those on free plans. Overall, I think it's a bit of a storm in a teacup, but if you're getting close to the 2000 subscribers mark it may be a good time to assess other mailing services.

Great podcast episodes

I am a big fan of keeping in the know with podcasts and have shared my favourites in our article: Top 10 Podcasts for Indie Authors.

These two recent episodes are especially worth a listen.

  • BookLab – from The Self Publishing Show: Listen as key experts pull apart different areas of an indie book. The insights are so useful and interesting. You’ll definitely learn something that you can apply to your books in this episode.
  • The Reality of Selling to Bookstores and Libraries with Amy Collins – IngramSpark:Again, this episode is full of gold. Amy is very blunt and upfront about what stores and libraries need and how indies let themselves down when trying to reach this market. Essential listening if that is part of your distribution goals.

Where to Next
