A chance meeting, a forever friendship, between… A Boy and A Dog. This is a children’s picture book with an age range of 3-8 years. Written in a poetic lyrical style, this is a classic story of a lonely boy and a lonely dog who find each other and discover true friendship. A touching insight into the special bond between children and animals. An emotional journey through rejection, trust, fear, love, joy and sadness to reach a place of peace and belonging. A lovely narrative that is able to touch gently on a serious subject. This book explores the emotional connection between a boy and a dog, with the universal themes of love, joy, compassion, trust, friendship and belonging.
Why do you love Christmas?
I love how Christmastime brings out the kindness in people. And I delight in the focus on peace, joy, compassion and togetherness. There is a magic and wonderment in the air, which can especially be sensed by children. Christmas has a comforting and exciting ambience for me because when I write for children, I must enter into the zone of magic and wonderment.
Why is your book a great book for Christmas?
The aforementioned magic in the air, or Christmas spirit, is also known by another name: love. A Boy and a Dog is the heart-warming story of a lonely boy and a lonesome dog who find each other and discover true friendship. A touching insight into the special bond between children and animals, with the universal themes of joy, compassion, trust and belonging. But at its very essence, it is a story about LOVE.
