Author and Artist duo Danny and Sheridan Blitz have joined the Old Mate Media family for their upcoming children’s picture book.

We’ve got an extremely exciting announcement for all book lovers and parents out there. Old Mate Media is working on the production of a brand new children’s picture book for mother-daughter team Danny and Sheridan Blitz. The book is called Much to Do Before a Dog. It follows a little girl who falls in love with the idea of having a dog, which is, of course, a big responsibility. When she adopts a dog, the journey they go through together provides a lesson on responsibility in the cutest way you could imagine.

The duo co-wrote the book, and Sheridan also looks after the illustrations. The story began as a bonding experience for the two, as a 17-year-old Sheridan prepared to head off to college. Danny had brought a dog into the family home as a vehicle for teaching Sheridan responsibility. These hard lessons would set her up for a life, and Sheridan is grateful for the experience. In fact, she now has a second dog!

After road-testing their story on children at their local schools in Cupertino, California, they knew they were on to a winning story. They then engaged us at Old Mate Media. We’re providing advice on the book production process and the illustrations. Plus we will be designing the book for both a digital and print release.

As you can see from the above image, Sheridan Blitz is an extremely talented artist. We fell in love with the story and the incredible art the instant we saw it. We hope you have, too. The duo are working on finalising all the illustrations, and intend to continue road-testing the title in local classrooms as they progress.
